More things to be aware of
Although I recommend this course to everyone, if you happen to be in a position of checking plug and cable damage, also remember no to touch any bare wires or plug pins as some appliances like microwaves and washing machines can store small amounts of energy in their internal power supplies enough to give you a jolt. Also many appliances come fitted with the wrong type of fuse so if it blows, don't necessarily replace for the same but check the power rating or the manufacturer's guidance, and as always if unsure ask a competent person.
