I found this very informative and useful. Some details spoke straight away; others needed effort and engagement. I have formed all sorts of cultural biases through life but very rarely revisit them and revise them. In libraries we meet all sorts of people all the time which I am finding helpful and inspiring. The more people I see the less I tend to pre-judge and hence 'peg' them. Serving a broad cross-section of community should to dispel and shrink my biases.
I enjoyed this training and it will definitely make me more self aware of my own biases. Thank you, Louise
The training sessions are not interesting, they are too long. It also did not indicate the benefits of unconscious bias and how it sometimes can be an useful tool. Most of the content was common sense, and it felt like a tick box exercise. There are more valued training sessions which could be offered, this was not one of them.
