If you are deaf and need to use subtitles you have to set them up on each new slide. The time it takes to do this means you miss the first line every time and have to go back and watch it from the start. There are no subtitles when in full screen mode and it is hard to drag slider without the screen moving about (which you need to do on every slide in order to return to the beginning). An example of stereotyping is based on hearing 3 voices and matching them to the person which is pointless if you can’t hear them. Sometimes the subtitles cover important info on the slides which again mean you need to watch the slide twice. The course took much longer than it should have because of all this repeat viewing.
Clearly this training is principally greed towards the work environment. However, its principles are applicable much more widely- e.g. when preparing for and conducting interviews.
Actualy I liked it
would have been good to vary the presenters. Good short sections. Slightly surprised at some of the examples that themselves perhaps display bias eg it the female in accounts that is not included in activity !!
I appreciates the Unconscious Bias Training as it train us to to be aware of our negative bias and to reduce and challenge them. It would helps us to work more effectively in our workplace and organization.
The only issues I had were tech issues with flipping between video slides there was a delay in each video speaker
This is an excellent course with lots of very good examples that tests your assumptions. Should make a lot of people think!
