Good to reflect on our biases

Useful in raising awareness and providing a language framework with which to discuss and explore unconscious bias. To improve the course's effectiveness, it would be beneficial to fully incorporate the trainee's note making and setting of personal challenges into the sequence of training, so the trainee is required to think and jot down their thoughts before they are able to move onto the next part of the training sequence. In my view, the thinking/reflecting aspect needed more emphasis, where presently it can easily be glossed over. The trainee's notes could then be printed out/saved upon completion of the course.

Really good course, well done who created

It's beneficial for everyone to do this course because I have learned a lot from that. It's about looking at the facts in front of you and approaching everything and everyone with an open mind.

Useful and thought provoking

I found the course interesting and thought provoking, makes a useful case for exploring your own unconscious biases, and identifying them in other people. I found the resources, such as the recorded voice clips followed by the reveal of the pictures and further information about the individuals, to be the most useful as it highlighted in a much more comprehensive way how these biases exist. My only criticism is that I feel the topic is too broad to be covered by such a short course. It felt like the course would more appropriately by entitled 'An introduction to unconscious bias'. As much as this was alluded to within the course, my concern is this might end up being used for a tick box exercise rather than providing meaningful training. Further and more detailed training would be required in an environment where this is posing a problem.

Thought provoking

The course did challenge ways of thinking about unconscious bias and made me realise how easy it is to have such set ideas.

Of limited value

Extremely basic. A couple of the examples were verging on ridiculous. This presentation was not of a professional standard
