Detailed but unfortunately not balanced

The training was detailed in the signs of abuse to look for but unfortunately it didn't give a balanced view by mentioning any other reasons why a child may be showing some of these signs Eg. they may be on the autistic spectrum. As both a parent and an aunt to autistic children I found it rather offensive that you are training people to see many of the signs of autism as being signs of emotional abuse without giving a more balanced viewpoint of why a child may be showing these behaviour traits. I also found the questions in the test seemed to be missing the point and concentrating on the theory of "What is the second of the 2 R's?" rather than "What should you do if you suspect abuse?" - maybe the types of questions that came up in my test were not representative of them all but it didn't leave a good impression. I've recently done the UK Sport Child Protection and Safeguarding seminar and feel that it was much better than this.

efficient way of doing the course

much better way of undertaking safeguarding training than having to attend yet another course!

Easy to navigate with plenty of detail

Although I have previously undertaken Safeguarding training with other organisations, it really is essential to take a regular refresher course to check your knowledge remains up to date as well as to test your memory, so that you know exactly what to do if a safeguarding issue should arise. I was mortified that I got one question wrong, but I will now remember that answer for sure !
