Very informative.

A clear and well organised approach to explaining the subject. Continues to include new aspects to be aware of.

Very Informative

A very clear and precise course, covered everything required for Safeguarding Children

5/5
Very thorough.

The course highlighted areas of abuse such as breast flattening and faith abuse that perhaps are not as widely recognised as other forms. The reason for my 4 star rating is information overload before taking the test. Perhaps the course could be improved by interspersing the multiple choice test questions after each section.

out of date views and not person centred

I think it can be slightly harmful to state that CSE isn’t a common abuse. Being involved in CSE as a teen and working in children’s residential I think it’s an inappropriate thing to highlight. This is giving an opinion that all the other abuses are more relevant in a thought process and subsides the victim impact of CSE. The name county lines is derived from the distribution line, the name of the line, is the link to the phone line. And making it a blanket black and white way of communicating with a child about disclosures isn’t appropriate either - children with special needs will need more coaxing and questions to speak. I think also mentioning in the course that children struggle to communicate verbally about their abuse is common so they could write, draw and this is still a disclosure. I’m really disappointed that this is a known course being used. But also why is their a 3 lined sentence and a good 10 second focus on how uncomfortable it is for the person hearing the disclosure ? And there’s absolutely no mention on how traumatic or uncomfortable it is for the victim of the abuse to come forward, or how brave it is, there’s no mention on reassuring that child that they are safe, or brave. It should be clear that all children disclose differently and the reassurance should be person centred, some children want a lot of reassuring and some just want to get on with there day like they hadn’t said anything. The course is extremely outdated and I think it can be misleading, especially for people who have never worked with children before.

Excellent and concise.

I was annoyed with myself for getting a lower mark than last time. I knew the answers, but I was confused in the way some of the questions were asked.

4/5
Very informative.

This course provides clear and descriptive information in regard the different types of abuse alongside the common warning signs. It also clearly sets out how the safeguarding procedure should be followed and the approach which should be taken.
