Very good

Very good course which got everything across very well.

An informative and important course

A good course but it would useful to have somewhere with links to the resources that could be accessed after seven days without starting a new course. I also felt that some of the questions in the test at the end were a little unclear. For example when it asked who should you speak to first it wasn't quite clear under what circumstances this was - for example if a victim makes a disclosure to you surely you have to engage with them first before talking to your DSL.

Comprehensive, clear but disturbing.

This course described the range of ways that children can be abused. I found it upsetting, but I understand why it has to there and the importance of recognising signs and acting correctly in the interests of child welfare.

Very useful and informative

The training was beneficial and easy to understand. It was informative and is useful for many aspects of life... at work and generally.

First impressions

My first impression before starting the course was very negative. I’m 71 years old, rarely deal with children or young adults why do I need to waste my time doing this, I’m only a volunteer after all! After completing the course I was so glad I did. The ‘narrator’ is easy to listen to, the subject material is easy to follow and at the end I was so glad I had gotten through it. Hopefully, I never come across a situation where I have to use what I was studying but if I do I would hope I now know what I need to do. Thank you.

mandatory training

Well made and presented.... The sensitive and unpleasant subject matter was dealt with at the right level and with candid professionalism... The information about the SDQ and the "4 Rs" was new to me, specifically about how to compile the record of disclosure... So I've learned something!

5/5
Sensitive topics well presented

Very detailed and well presented course covering some very sensitive issues. It is long and quite intense, especially if you check out all the links. Can be overwhelming to take it all in, but persevere. As mentioned on previous iHASCO training courses, your test answer selection is final - no changing your mind once an answer is selected, so only depress a letter when you submit your final answer (say that because if you accidentally touch the wrong letter choice... too late!).

Comprehensive and disturbing.

Makes me feel we are failing in day to day work with the sort of young people we deal with.

A good and informative course

The course is very well presented and very informative. These are important issues and it is so important we have a good understanding of the subject and processes.
