Easy to use, still using 'vulnerable' :(

The course is easy to navigate, easy to understand, is broad and relevant. Sadly the word vulnerable is still used (The Law commission did a lot of work in 2012 to move away from the term vulnerable as disability groups found it pejorative - hence the removal of this from the Care Act finally in enactment in 2015. Adult and risk is better but the The Care Act uses the term adult with care and support needs as defined below and I couldn't see this definition (I may have missed it I was skipping around): an adult who: • has needs for care and support (whether or not the local authority is meeting any of those needs) and; • is experiencing, or at risk of, abuse or neglect; and • as a result of those care and support needs is unable to protect themselves from either the risk of, or the experience of abuse or neglect. 14.3. The adult experiencing, or at risk of abuse or neglect will hereafter be referred to as the adult throughout this chapter. There is a strange interpretation of the Care Act on additional info where is refers to vulnerable adults- just needs sorting. The test is very basic - 5 questions which don't seem to be very 'testing' for a level 2 and finally the types of abuse seems to miss self-neglect (unless again I missed this).

Thorough and easily understandable

The course was well presented in bite-size chunks, with good additional information. All topics were explained clearly with good summary slides at the end of each section. the ad-hoc questions posed throughout the course helped ensure understanding .
