I am a little troubled, not by this course exactly, but by the whole Prevent idea, especially in light of the recent moves to control the resources teachers can access and use. Of course stopping terrorism is a good thing. Stifling free speech and debate isn't. I am also a bit worried about the term "British Values". It smacks of jingo nationalism. I'm also worried about how we define the word "radical". There were, historically, some people whose aims we might applaud without necessarily approving all their methods. Suffragettes? Some people thought Abraham Lincoln was a dangerous radical. Others thought his opposition to slavery didn't go far enough. One thing in the course I heartily applaud is its advocacy of critical thinking. We used to offer an A Level in Critical Thinking. I think perhaps we ought to go back to doing so.

Clear & informative training video presentation with accurate and confidence building guidance given. Delivery style very good in that was purposeful without causing concern or worry. Felt supportive

Clear guidance on the Prevent Duty and signs to look out for when working with children or young people.

A good general instructional course- however, it also presents a very clear cut portrayal of extremism, which I feel fails to imply nuance in its statement of the Fundamental Values.

learn a lot from the session

I was able to complete this course at my leisure and found it useful and informative. I think the summary at the end of each section was useful, as was the mini test at the end.

More emphasis in having confidence to contact CTU Prevent within the police for advice. They are the experts and will give the ultimate reassurance
