super course

I really enjoyed doing this course and learnt new skills. The information was good to use in the working environment and how we can help ourselves and others. Really useful and will remember some key points.

good presentation clearly explained in bite size chunks so that information could be understood and remembered. Good use of diagrams.

Very clear and easy to follow

It works well particularly if you have to take a break to do some other work.

informative. An awful lot to take in

In moving and handling people, we need to understand how the back works and how to lift without causing injury to the person or ourselves. As far as possible, we guide and support people to move rather than lifting them per se. Communication is key and we need to explain clearly to the individual what we are doing and listen carefully to their feedback. It's important to check that any equipment we use is in good working order, that we are properly trained in its use and to follow procedure correctly to ensure safe handling/moving.
