I was pretty aware of a lot of the content as have family members who have suffered on and off with mental health issues for several years. However it was helpful to see it in black and white.
I found this training interesting and raised some useful points for personal signs of my own mental health concerns. However it would be useful to have some more points on spotting it in the workplace for others, and how to offer a real life hand to fellow colleagues. I'm still unsure on if I were to spot something in a fellow colleague and how I may approach them and try get them to open up or show that I am there to support them if they need it, and don't want it to seem like i'm intruding into their life.
This was a brilliant course. As someone diagnosed with anxiety and depression, it helped me personally and will help others to understand that we can still be productive employees.
I felt the course was a great introduction and gave some very useful tips for improving mood, eg positive thinking, the importance of good nutrition, difference between reality and imagination. I particularly valued the WAP and the Mental Health and Wellness guide.
A reasonable course, most of it is common sense but there are a few new words and meanings to be learnt. I can see that if someone does have mental health problems that reading about it and the solutions is a good thing.
