Too simplistic...

There were good and bad points in the training. Sadly I do feel that it reinforced stereotypes in places and in particular I think it was problematic in relation to 'eating'. Many people who suffer with poor mental health can also suffer with poor self esteem and negative body image, thus leading to harmful eating habits (over or under eating). I do not think it is helpful to draw attention to this by saying you should avoid 'unhealthy' foods in favour of 'healthy'. No food is inherently good or bad and saying so increases 'fatphobia', as well as reinforcing the guilt individuals may feel after eating so-called 'bad' foods. Food isn't medicine and whilst I accept food choices may play a role in how someone feels - talking about eating 'unhealthy' or 'healthy' foods is far too simplistic in relation to physical or mental health.

This offers nothing new.

Courses such as these cater only for those experiencing mild symptoms, it offers nothing for people with more serious conditions and the whole thing falls over in the work place because HR and management always discriminate against sufferers by refusing to understand that the needs of those suffering are often very different.

Great course

All the topics covered in this course are really important that we all have awareness and understanding off especially as managers. The course brings the topics into the realms of awareness and conversations and its great the company has such a detailed course to mention all the aspects covered.
