As I am suffering with daughters and my own it was very powerful
The course is pretty much a copy & paste from the Mental health Awareness Course. From the slides to the test, or questions, this training offers little for Management. Throughout the material, at each step there should be suitable advice for Management, a Manager as this is not "personal" mental health, but how managers can support the "external" mental health issues of their employees. The course should have slides, examples for managers on how to act, approach and communicate with those they feel are suffering ill health, the risks to them such as workplace anger, violence & identify the correct planning for such discussion, or correct channels, referring to HSE guidance. If a Manager approaches an employee in the wrong place, or time this could greatly heighten poor mental ill health and lead to increased risks of harm & suicide. Ref to safety reps, HR, or Mental Health First Aiders/ Advocates can be included.
This was things that I already try to do without actually realizing that I was, it is good to have a better understanding and apply what I was trying to do in a better way.
I am impressed with how comprehensive this course is. It's something of specific interest and importance for me, and very important in a stressful office environment and managerial role.
I found this very informative and some of the data very surprising. I feel this has changed my mindset and given me the tools I would need to help others and myself.
I done the employee mental health awareness training prior to the mental health training for managers and then found the content duplicated. Apart from that, a very good set of presentations that focusses the mind, provides some coaching and points out the importance of culture change & change of approach regarding mental health.
Portrays the subject matter in a concise easy to understand manner which leaves you able to retain as much learning as possible, which can then be used during your daily work when needed.
I am fortunate to be pretty au fait with most of the content from the course, but it is a simple no nonsense run through of a number of helpful tips around Mental Health and Well-being that reinforced my existing knowledge.
This is a Small introduction into this subject
Introduction, modules 1 to 3 are a repeat of the Mental Health Awareness course and offered nothing new or meaningful only the module on Management Responsibilities proved useful.
