Due to my location when taking the test I couldn't use audio. So I feel like I may have missed some details that where only verbally communicated.
Very intresting, well presented and very easy to understand and learn manaual handaling technique in everyday life.
This was a quality product for any walk of life. The dvd sound quality is poor in parts. Due to ware and tare. Kind Regards Colin.
I felt some of the vidoes were well done and explanined a lot of information, I felt that more time needed to be spent to showing how in daily life we can damage our bags, e.g woman carrying heavy shoulder bags can cause the spine to bend if weight isn't spread acroo both shoulders. one of the questions in your exam was asking how do you move a load safty, the answer to this question in the your test was one to three...what should be used is ready steady lift, the reason this term is used is because it gives both partys clearer instioucion on when to actually lift the load, as 1, 2, 3 no one is sure if they lift on 3 or \after 3.
It is an interesting session and its very helpful as it reminds me to use manual handling techniques wherever i am rather than only thinking about it at work.
It was a good refresher for me as i do try to think about mannual handling whilst in my work enviroment. It gave good knowledge on the pressures we put our bodies under daily.
1 The two case histories were to long.2 Not sure about the example about lifting a table, which involved twisting the back when walking with the table, I would not do it that way!
What I miss in this program are the more complicated lifting techniques. Like lifting 5 kg of dog food out of your car boot, or shopping trolley as in both cases the general rules cannot be applied ( No space to bend your knees and boot edge/trolley edge too high, so the need of bending your arms). I also noticed the 2 people walking with the table, had their torso's twisted (should have been walking backwards/forwards or sideways, keeping the load straight in front of them).
Good to have a refresher. Put across in simple language. Previous training from another provider was chalk and talk but this was colourful and kept my attention
I learnt more than I thought I would.
