Finished the training and printed out the certificate. Went back to the site to reprint it but it was showing resume session as if I had not taken the test or watched all the sections. Tried to re-enter the session but was only getting a grayed out window. The software that runs this training programme is very poor, if it was improved then the training might be more enjoyable.
Basic information though straight to the point & very usefull. As it was a health & safety information guide to carrying & moving potentialy heavy objects manualy, I noticed that the gentleman in the practical instruction video seemed to be wearing protective steel toe-capped boots which was good practice, as he looked liked he was working in an industrial environment carrying boxes. Though at the opposite end of the scale the female who was also in the video was seen to be only wearing soft " court " shoes. To an observer being showing health & safety training on lifting heavy boxes in an industrial environment this is very poor practice. Can you please comment on my paragraph.
Although the videos are very useful to show how to prevent injury to your back, the introduction videos are too long and do not provide much useful information.
I didn't like the fact the presentation was split into so many short videos, each of which had to be clicked on, rather than jut running through. I preferred the example of a 'real life' situation - moving the computer in the office, to those staged in the white studio. Narrator was good, just the right level of expression.
The programme is very clear and concise. I would recommend to others to do. However, the pictures did not accompany the recordings often. It would be best to make sure that they are always visible as many people may remember things better if they can see the sildes/pictures.
Gets to the root of what you are trying to get across, clear and precise
Coming from an NHS background and having done numerous manual handling courses, I feel this on line course is a perfect balance. It does not take too long to complete, but still manages to cover the key elements required.
really easy to use and navigate through, full of inforation i didnt know before
Good introduction to Manual Handling about being 'your body'. Gives good explanation of the 10:1 principle Good explanation of a team lift.
