Course well presented easy to follow

The course was easy to follow and well presented, was very relative to my employment and informative. Not too long and tedious so didn't get overwhelmed by its content

There is a need to revisit fire safety.

I thought the course had some good content. Having completed the Manual Handling and Fire course I thought there was considerable duplication with Fire and Manual Handling in the Essential Health and Safety module. I am still of the opinion there is still work to be done in the policy and procedures of fire evacuation at the club. When I speak to people around the site many staff members are not aware of evacuation procedures. As an example I recently did a during performance inspection in the shop. They were not aware of where the fire extinguisher locations, break glass points, unaware of the sound of the fire alarm or where to muster should a fire alarm activate. I believe there is a need to revisit the fire safety policy in Event and Non Event mode to ensure staff are safe at work. Kind regards Malcolm

Covers everything and more

The only criticism i can think of is i don't think you are allowed safety pins in the first aid boxes anymore.

Health & safety in the workplace

An informative training session on all the general aspects of Health and Safety in the workplace. It covered slips, and trips, falls, fire, manual handling, hazardous substances, L.I.T.E, Golden & 20-20-20 rules, screen equipment & monitors, first aiders & communication and training needed to comply with all the policies and procedures at work. It was good to recap and embed any previous knowledge that had been gained.

noise at work

The noise (sound pressure) levels quoted (80db / 85db) were given as legal (absolute) limits for exposure, but did not explain these are time weighted. Exceeding the sound pressure level of 80 or 85dB for a short period of time does not mean the legal limit has been exceeded. It may be better to explain it simply as a dose response?

Clear and informative.

An excellent course. Practical and accessible.
