DSE is generally 'good sense'.

Though the programme is regarded as 'an aid' there is a better approach to good 'posture etc' by being shown the correct things to do. Thought the exercises where a good add on but rather 'long winded'.

User friendly and comprehensive course

A very easy to use course and relatively comprehensive basic course. Clear and concise information and short simple tests. However doesn't allow for flexibility in the working environment where people prefer to work standing up at a desk, or prefer a variable desk height to allow multi tasking at the desk. Does not cover the difficulty of working on an open plan office with numerous distractions and although it mentions ambient noise levels does not acknowledge the additional stress of open plan office noise versus 1-4 people in a closed office or fully floor-ceiling, noise controlled, partitioned areas. Does not address the desk environment in terms of stress caused by lack of ambient natural light versus poor ceiling old fluorescent lighting or ineffective air conditioning or being able to change eye focus to look at long distance objects to relieve the eye muscles.

Useful in parts, but a lot should be cut

Some of it is useful, but a lot of it feels like it's aimed more at the employer than the employee. For example, we have no control over how tall the desk is and whether the temperature is correct.

Good easy to use course

Quite thorough and useful while remaining easy to do

4/5
Outdated and irrelevant

Several sections were completely irrelevant to the Haymarket working environment, and parts are incredibly outdated.
