From an assessor's point of view, it is something that when assessing the new L4 and 5 in HSC if they have policies and procedures clearly defining actions on substance abuse. Having worked in the industry it is a subject that has never arisen yet contributing factors of employment stress and the nature of home life balance with employees should be considered and would reinforce their equal opportunity policy. For level 2 and 3 I often have apprentices who work with adults and substance abuse, to refresh my knowledge on catorgories was very useful. Often some health care sectors such as LD expect employees to drive to activities for their clients. This has been insightful

This issue affect a lot of people and should not be overlooked or disregarded. Excellent content.
This was an insightful and thoughtful course which embraced a number of points. I found it very useful to become aware and alert to the problems of drug and alcohol abuse as well as showing me the signs of colleagues who are going through this.
