A good course. Some of the information needs updating regarding the procedure for administering the different types of adrenaline auto-injector pens.
This course is clearly structured and well delivered. The video clips support the learning and understanding of the topic - all in all an informative document.

The course raises awareness of the high prevalence of allergies amongst schoolchildren. It also shows how different departments and activities in the school can be giving cause to an allergic reaction (canteen, PE lessons, chemistry or D&T lessons, open windows during hay-fever season). Good distinction between light and medium reactions and anaphylaxis, but explanation of the risk of the latter at any time, especially if two allergens come together. Teaching children self-awareness and self-care is also very positively encouraged, as it is urgently needed for their wellbeing. The role parents and guardians have to play is also well described.

Promotes greater understanding of allergies and anaphylaxis as a result of the comprehensive explanations.
I applaud this course, despite the density and complexity of its content. I urge first aid training for as many staff as possible in all schools, colleges and universities.
