About this anxiety management course

According to statistics published by the HSE, in 2021/22, there were an estimated 914,000 cases of work-related stress, depression or anxiety.

Therefore, the need for awareness and education on the subject of mental health is apparent. This Managing Anxiety Training course provides ideas and techniques to help people to manage their anxiety, this includes belly breathing techniques, strengthening your resilience and ABC forms that help people to highlight how they felt and behaved during an anxiety-provoking event.

Basic CBT Techniques

CBT, or cognitive behavioural therapy, can play a key part in helping people better manage anxious thoughts. Some of the basic CBT techniques you will learn about in this anxiety management training course include:

  • Cognitive restructuring
  • Exposure therapy
  • Mindfulness
  • Problem-solving
  • Stress management
  • Graded exposure

Recognised by the NHS, here is how they describe the process:

“Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. It’s most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems.” – NHS

When users complete our IOSH Approved course, we hope that they feel more confident in addressing uncomfortable or upsetting situations, so they can lessen the impact they have on them.

Perfectly put together section to assist suffers of anxiety and recognise it

This helped to understand that as person that suffers from anxiety that there different approaches to dealing with it. Its more flexible then fixed. It was perfect the way the slide shows broke down the sections and gave ideas to write down the issue and practice how you wanted the outcome to be. There should be more focus on this within the work place.

would have welcomed guidance on how to deal with others

the course would have been more useful (from a workplace perspective) if it included guidance on how to spot signs of anxiety in colleagues and how to adjust our own behaviours to support them. As a course solely focussed on managing our own individual anxiety I found it a little long
