About this course
The number of people being diagnosed with dementia in the UK is growing. It’s a sad, uncertain and scary time for the people who receive the diagnosis and for those who care about them.
One of the best things to have in this situation is knowledge. This makes awareness training absolutely vital, so people know how to access the best care, support and treatments as early as possible, and as the condition progresses.
The course covers the signs, symptoms and different types of dementia; the impact that symptoms have on people physically, socially and emotionally; the responsibility of employers; the role of carers and community systems; and it offers practical guidance on how to live well with dementia.
This course is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about dementia for either personal or professional reasons - but note that this course does not give medical advice and should not replace any information or directions provided directly by a healthcare professional.

Why is this training important?
Business benefits
It’s crucial to know that someone living with dementia experiences a number of changes in how they understand the world and how they show up in it - but their memories (and indeed their whole life) still belongs to them and they need to live their life well, with the help and love of those around them.
By providing the people closest to them with effective awareness training, it can help to ensure that the person suffering from dementia can live well from day to day.
