Why is this training important?
Compliance
It’s important that you comply with the law and know the ways in which it affects you and the way you work.
Competition Law is what keeps things fair, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to have a decent slice of the pie based on the quality of the products and services they have to offer. It’s in place to protect customers by stopping companies from abusing their dominant position in the market, preventing anti-competitive agreements between businesses and preventing the creation of cartels.
In the UK, “Competition Law” isn’t a single piece of legislation, instead it’s a term that’s used to describe the various laws which, together, protect competition. The Competition Act and the Enterprise Act form the backbone of Competition Law. They also give power to the Competition and Markets Authority, or the CMA, who are responsible for enforcing Competition Law.
