Simplifying password based log-in for employees
Posted 5 years ago
We’re rolling out some changes later this week which simplify log-in to the training suite for clients that have enabled password protected log-in for their account.
Passwords are hard to remember at the best of times, especially when employees are using a multitude of web based services and may go a number of months between log-ins. Earlier in the year we introduced a much improved account recovery process and realised we could leverage this work to further simplify password based log-in too.
Instead of being presented with two inputs at login, (one for email and one for password) your users will now see only an email address input. To log-in they simply submit their email address, we send them a unique log-in link immediatley via email, they click on the link, they’re logged in. It’s that simple.
This negates the need for your users to set or remember a password at all. It’s more secure than users setting a low complexity password, or re-using passwords which they use elsewhere. For those that do remember their password and don’t want to wait a few seconds for an email to arrive, we’ve retained the ability for them to log-in with a password if they wish.
Now that logging in securely is as convenient as the legacy email only log-in option there’s no better time to secure your account. You can enable secure log-in on your account today via the LMS administration area by navigating to “Settings > Security > Password protected log-in”. We’re planning to launch this new feature on Friday the 18th of October.
We hope you enjoy this new aspect of our product and as ever, our customer support team are always on hand to help you with any queries you may have.
