Find out more about Mathew Parry
When did you join iHasco?
I joined iHasco in August 2021.
What do you do there?
I am the Data Protection Officer, responsible for ensuring that iHasco processes the personal data of our staff, clients, and any other individual in a fair and compliant manner.
What did you want to do when you were at school?
I wanted to be an electrician, I know not as exciting as an Astronaut or a Footballer, but my hopes and dreams took a hit when I found out I was colourblind.
What do you get up to when you’re not at iHasco?
I spend some of my free time watching travel and cooking programs. Even better is a hybrid of both Ainsley in the Caribbean or the Hairy Bikers travelling across Asia.
Where in the world would you most like to go?
Top of my travel bucket list is to climb Machu Picchu. I'd love to travel to Patagonia in Argentina, there are roughly 5000 native Welsh speakers there, I think it would be great to be in South America and having a conversation in Welsh with some natives.
What’s your favourite food?
I absolutely love cheese but for me you can't beat a good prime rib steak. Favourite type of food has to be Latin American cuisine.
Tell us something we don’t know about you…
I spent most of the last 10 years coaching football. In my first full season my club won the league and cup double, it was the first time the club had won that specific cup since the 1950s and only the 2nd time in the club’s history.
Favourite book or movie?
The most interesting book I have read would be 'Guantanamo Diary', it's the memoirs of Mohamedou Ould Slahi who was falsely imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay. It's definitely an eye opener. My favourite film was Gladiator for years, but now it's The Dark Knight
