About this course
The Criminal Finances Act 2017 is one of the most important pieces of anti-corruption legislation to be passed in the UK. The Act means that members of an organisation can be criminally liable if they fail to prevent tax evasion by either a member of their staff or an external agent, even if they were unaware of the act.
This online Anti-Tax Evasion training course guides users through the Act and how they can ensure compliance with it.
Throughout this course, users will be given an understanding of their responsibilities under the Act, as well as their employers, what to do if they suspect tax evasion, and how to properly report it.

Difficult to Follow
Because this video had no visuals and was just audio, I found it difficult to concentrate. This would probably be the case for people with attention deficit disorders.

Why is this training important?
Compliance
It’s important that you comply with the law and know the ways in which it affects you and the way you work.
The Criminal Finances Act 2017 presents a number of significant changes from prior laws, where organisations could only be found liable for tax evasion if the most senior members of the company were aware of the facilitation.
With the new Act in place, all employees must now be made aware of their individual responsibilities when it comes to compliance with this Act. Key areas that employees should be given an understanding of include:
- the definition of tax evasion
- the do’s and don’ts in the workplace
- what is considered an offence
- key terminology used in the Act
- warning signs of tax evasion
- the importance of reporting suspected tax evasion
